Favorite travel destination: There are many and so choosing one is hard. My top three in no particular order – Egypt, learning about King Tutankhamun and the Great Sphinx of Giza in the 5th grade and then to actually see it and take a cruise down the Nile River from Luxor to Aswan, amazing! Tanzania- the people, the Serengeti. Waking up and adventuring out, I witnessed a canvas of colors around me and the “Big 5” in their natural habitat. To be so close, it was breathtaking. Israel-one of the oldest cities in the world. The Dead Sea, Jordan River, Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Wailing Wall, Dome of the Rock, a trip of self-reflection and appreciation. Oh and Rome, Italy the architecture, the food. Ok that was four.
Hobbies: Travel, dance, reading, watching broadway/off broadway shows, listening to live music and attending cultural festivals
What inspires me: My travels, the arts, "Bold Change Makers." in the community. I am inspired by my mother, the elders in my family, those who are still here and those who have passed on. I am inspired by those who go after their dreams.
I believe travel can…Make you fearless. Challenge critical thinking, educate, teach patience and compassion. Travel can shift your purpose in life.
